If you don't know what to do. Know what not to do.
Does money make us happy?
"Mind on my money,
money on my mind"

It has been occupying my mind for a while now. Money has an interesting and intrinsic value, which is why chose the above to be my research question.

Everybody loves or hates it, but seen apart from our subjective position towards it, money has a complex function. One that indirectly helps neutralising or stabilising differences we experience towards and from others. This would mean that it is a powerful tool that might even have partaken in unifying the world to some degree. Globalism is the example.

We can all name one thing we would totally want to own. Let it be a stereo-system, a hi-tech computer or a neat surfboard. Whatever country, culture, believe or interest we choose to be guided by. We are united in wanting stuff.

Products keep growing within the capitalistic system, fed back to themselves. Slowly turning into something more than just material. A color, a feel, or a reason to why these products are wanted. Which becomes just as important as the product itself. To eventually end up becoming trends, waves of factors and themes combined and infused into the product. Everybody knows Apple and why one would their products. It is a perfect example of when marketing started linking specific qualities to the products. To which in the end it seems like
we are buying a product for the emotions linked to that box.
Fanta without young people and sports involved, is just a sugared orange-soda. Just like Coca cola loses it's political meaning without Santa being in the picture. A regular highly-carbonated and sugared soda, is all that is left.

CONS
- Having to work for money binds us to the system. A system in which we have to comply and sacrifice to remain within it. And thus our lives are shaped by it.
- Like with any addiction, getting money makes us want more, if we were to ignore a sober perspective.
- People who tend to be more risky or stingy, psychologically speaking, have a better chance at getting rich than your average good Sumaritan.
Notes on Greed

Wanting more stands for succes
Greedy people tend to take bigger risks.
The individual is all there is.
War serves consumerism, vice versa.
THE BIG WHAT IFS
- A financial crisis occurs, once again
- Money becomes completely digital
- The social differences regarding money reach an all time high
- The capitalistic system gets substituted with a post neo-communistic system.
- All the money would be divided over all the people in the world
- Money would become a religion

According to the Bank for International Settlements, the total amount is about $5 trillion. According to the CIA, the total amount is $80 trillion if you include "broad money."

THE PARADOX
In western societies money is an universal tool that helps us survive.

We feel closer to others due to trends which are internationally interesting
Just like we can feel connected, it can drive us apart like an icebreaker.
We buy things to improve quality of our lives.
We buy things to improve how others see our lives.

Akwardness
Everybody experiences it at times. But yet we seem to try to avoid expressing it at any possible rate. Is it really that bad though?

Books and the internet, the major influencers regarding self-help platforms. It is something of the millenial- times. Back in the days you learned by mistake way more often. Nowadays the younger generation learn a lot through the internet, heck, we almost learn everything through the network.
Could this partially explain why young people are more awkward than ever before? Many of us, so to speak, live on the internet, which does not really help with challenging ourselves to step out. Trying to not want to avoid make mistaking.
When people really start living on the internet, they slowly change. The computer becomes a part of their life without them knowing it. Slowly it affects their identities. An example of such is called "catfishing". Where the person in question will be pretending to be someone else with different images and interests to have a bigger chance at attraction.
The issues are bigger than we might think. Every now and then a little awkward does not hurt. But what about avoiding any personal contact whatsoever?
Akwardness
Money
Our goal with the video was to record what awkward looks like.
It seemed like a vague goal since we want to, at all costs, avoid showing any form of awkwardness. We all hide it, consciously or unconsciously. Which meant that to record our expressions we needed to really try and evoke it. In the end directing the video was kind of hard since it its hard to put someone on the spot and then expect them feel comfortable.
We tried to convey the essence of awkwardness, mainly because we believe it can be a very contagious energy. Our intervention is about conveying a message.
We wanted people to doubt about awkwardness and if it is really that bad. And that if we all would be a bit more understanding, or less afraid to make mistakes. So in the end we, instead of increasingly becoming more shy and antisocial, we learn to deal with awkwardness and maybe even understand it one day. have we can all have a better time.
